The Abolition of Key Stage 3 SATS

Email Print PDF

The abolition of SATS at Key Stage 3 was announced in mid October to what seemed to be pretty unanimous delight from the teaching profession. Since then responses from teachers have become more complex with teaching leaders complaining that newly piloted "single level" tests may lead to more stress for teachers and pupils.

For many publishers, the abolition of Key Stage 3 SATS offers both a challenge and, potentially, an opportunity.

This research examines the attitudes of teachers to the abolition of Key Stage 3 SATS only weeks after. It aims to offer publishers at least an initial indication of how this market is developing, both in the short and medium term.
