Moderating Focus Groups

Email Print PDF

A practical day-long workshop to enable participants to develop their moderation skills.

Focus groups are a vital tool for gaining a deep understanding of the motivations and attitudes of customers and users. However, they are not easy to moderate: individual participants can be unresponsive or dominate the group and sometimes it is difficult not to introduce ones own opinions into the discussion, rendering the results useless. This course aims to help you overcome these problems and others to get the most out of your participants. It includes a practical moderation exercise so you can practise your skills on a real group.

Who is this course for?

Anyone engaged in moderating focus groups within publishing organisations. Marketing managers, commissioning editors, development editors, assistant editors and publishers.
