On Tuesday, 8th March 2011, the Office for Fair Access (OFFA) published new guidance setting out its expectations of English universities and what they would need to do if they wish to charge tuition fees of more than £6,000 for full-time entrants in 2012-13.

Student perspectives on technology - demand, perceptions and training needs (NUS survey)

This study, produced by the NUS, was commissioned by HEFCE on behalf of the Online Learning Task Force. Its purpose is to gain a broad overview of the level of demand from students – new and potential – for online learning provision in UK higher education institutions (HEIs), and student‟s perceptions of that learning. As part of this study NUS undertook research focusing on the perceptions, demand, and training needs of students in both further and higher education. 

Higher Education Supply and Demand to 2020

The sixth report on demand for higher education that HEPI has published, updated each year in the light of the most recent information.

This year's report highlights high levels of unsatisfied qualified demand for higher education and predicts high levels of growth in these numbers in future. It also sheds light on the previous educational profile of students entering higher education - in particular that more than one third of entrants have no UCAS tariff points.  

Higher Education Reforms: Progressive but Complicated with an Unwelcome Incentive

Produced in December 2010 by the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS), this report looks at the potential impact of raising the tuition fee cap to £9000
