Emily Terry

Research Executive

In her role as a Research Executive, Emily works on quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research. She contributes to all stages of the research process, from recruitment to report writing. Emily also regularly edits proposals and reports. She has worked on a several research projects for the education and medical sectors, including on projects for Oxford University Press, Pearson and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.

Before joining Shift Learning, Emily worked for three years as a French and German teacher following the completion of her PGCE at King’s College London and undergraduate degree at University of Bristol. While completing her PGCE, Emily carried out a short qualitative project where she moderated a small focus group and conducted an interview. This taste of research motivated her to undertake an MA in education, where she wrote a dissertation on the factors affecting teacher identity development.

Having enjoyed engaging with education in a research capacity, she decided to pursue a career at Shift Learning, bringing her teaching experience with her.
